Rainy Day Programme

Even on a rainy day Glasi offers an exciting experience for the whole family.
Glasi is at 2 minutes’ walking distance from the train station Hergiswil.
Start your visit at the Glasi Museum “Formed by Fire”. It will guide you through the history of glass making and of Glasi Hergiswil. You can wander through a carefully reconstructed cabinet of illusions and experience the economic ups and downs of the Glasi works, as if you stepped into a time machine.
The European Council named the museum “one of the most beautiful museums in Europe”.
Admission fees

Rainy day programmeWatch the glassblowers at work
From the visitor’s stand you have an ideal view of the glassmakers’ platform and can observe our craftsmen in their rhythmical working activity. Working around the heart of Glasi – the furnace – our glassmakers blow, cast and shape the typical Hergiswil glass. Free admission.

Rainy day programmeBlow your own glass ball
On the spectators’ stand you and your children can blow your own glass ball for Fr. 20.–, with the help of a glassmaker. After about 15 minutes’ cooling, the glass ball is ready for you to take home. You can also have a souvenir photo to take home and a video on YouTube.

Rainy day programmeIt never rains in the glass labyrinth
Prepare to be enchanted with your children! Find your way through the glass labyrinth and enjoy the light show and the special sound. Be careful not to get any bruises from walking into a glass wall! At the cash desk you’ll receive slippers and white gloves for your exploration of the labyrinth.
